Supporting your approach to Innovation

Structure

Is your organisation set up to review and act upon innovative ideas from wherever they might arise? All organisations will admit, even if they think they are serving their customers in a responsive and anticipatory way that seeks to delight them, that they need to innovate. Yet it can be difficult to be sure that your organisation is fit to innovate.

A commission from the Centre for Innovation and Collaborative Engineering has resulted in an insight into a peer group of senior and chief executives within the construction sector about how they approach innovation. Reflecting on these approaches John is able to review your approach or give guidance on enhancing your approach to innovation.

Connections and Brokering

Building on the cornerstone of being responsible for Construction as a Manufacturing Process for the Innovative Manufacturing Initiative for EPSRC, John has built up an exceptional range of contacts in RTOs and the academic community to address technological or managerial innovations. Over the years the opportunity to broker useful contacts has been enhanced by being involved in CRISP, CE, HTMA, the National Platform and the Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Partnership. In addition He has been involved with the steering groups for the Engineering Doctorates in Systems Engineering and Construction at Bristol/Bath and Loughborough universities respectively and is a Visiting Professor at Salford University.
